Townsville Business Women's Network

The Townsville Business Women's Network (TBWN) was established in 1990 with only 40 local business women and has since grown to a collective membership of over 400 members.  The network provides opportunities for local business women to meet, network, and share knowledge through monthly events.

To meet the growing needs of the organisation, and as part of the revamping of their corporate image established by graphic designer Kim Miller, a new website was developed.  

Events Calendar, Online Forms and Members Pages

The website includes an integrated events calendar where members can see what is on for that month, as well as download the calendar straight to their Outlook Calendar.  Members can also register and pay online for events using an easy to use web form linked to Bendigo Bank.

 Each member is issued with a unique username and password, and once logged in can access additional features such as managing their contact details, adding member discounts for their organisation, and searching the extensive database of members. 

 

Member Search

The member search facility allows logged in members to search for other members (currently by member name or organisation) using a live search feature which displays results as soon as they begin typing. This is handy if they are unsure of the spelling or full name details of a person they wish to find as the search results happen in real-time they can quickly change them to accurately find what they are looking for.

Each member has a contact card which is marked up using the hcard microformat. This allows users with hcard extraction tools in their web browser (such as operator for firefox) to download a members full contact card in one easy click and save it directly to their address book.
